Day 8: St Michael's Mount

6th July

The breakfast we had today was sensational - it was sausages, potatos, bacon, eggs, baked beans and toast. It filled us up with energy so we could enjoy our day at St Michael's Mount. And that's where the rest of the day begins...

It was a short car journey and then a 15 minute walk on the causeway, which was dry when we walked on it but the sea and lots of seaweed was all around us on the rocks. Then, when we arrived at St Michael's Mount harbour we went into a room where we found out a lot of extraordinary information, for instance, people have lived on the Mount for 3000 years!

Then, when we were at the entrance to St Michael's Mount (SMM) we were given a 'quest' paper where we had to read the information, find something like a picture/weopan/portrait etc etc etc and find out the answers and then put the right sticker on the sheet. For example, the 'romance' sticker was to do with the family portrait in the dining hall.

Coming down the hill, we saw extraordinary views of the mainland of England. At the top of the castle was a U.K. Flag and there was a Cornish flag at the bottom. 🇬🇧 

The foggy weather in morning had changed from cloudy to gorgeous, moreover, the sun shining on the sea was shimmering like all the stars in the sky.

There were two fantastic gift shops at SMM which we all enjoyed. I was going to buy something but the prices were high 😔.

Excitedly, we went and bought ice creams that were SO good-I had a cone with raspberry and white chocolate...it was delicious.

A few minutes later, we realized that then causeway was flooded with water! So we had to get the ten-seater boat back which was quite cool and very n, when we got back to the mainland, we were allowed half an hour in the adventure playground. We then walked happily back to the car, drove home and finished the day with another ice cream!😎🍦
