Day 2: The Winchester Day

30th June 2017

We woke up yawning after a tiring day yesterday and had a full English breakfast in the pub. The breakfast was really filling because there was a lot on my plate.
Then we packed our things and jumped into the car and headed to King Alfred's College in Winchester, where mummy and daddy met. At the university, mummy and daddy showed us their rooms from over 20 years ago. Daddy's old room had a secret cupboard with a sink in it. Then daddy told a story about when he saw mummy in the student building and she was whacking a vending machine because her money had got stuck and her Snickers was not coming out.
One of the best bits of the university was rolling down the grassy hills. It was very steep.
Later on, we walked to the Cathedral - it was gigantic and beautiful. We sat on the grass next to the Cathedral and enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch. A few minutes later, we discovered a 'real' arcade where instead of playing video games, you were actually the players in the games, running around like Pac Man and Donkey Kong - it was great fun.
It took about 55 minutes to get to Aunty Mavis's house, where we went down the river at the end of the garden and we had a little dip in the water. The water was FREEZING COLD! It was so cold, I thought I had got a frostbite. Also, we saw two beautiful swans in the river. Aunty Mavis's garden was absolutely amazing and in it there was a little cabin that we played in for a while. I had never met her before but I thought she was a lovely woman, I also liked her hair!

Shropshire to Hampshire and HMS Victory

Thursday 29th June

Day 1:
Mum and dad woke us early and after brekky, we were heading south to hampshire. The journey did not seem to take too long as we were watching a David Attenborough programme called 'frozen planet'. Mummy gave us crisps and sandwiches and white chocolate fingers (from nanny). When we got to Portsmouth we went to see HMS Victory-it was a gigantic ship that had 5 floors including the poop deck (poop deck is not rude). Nelson was a dwarf with only one arm, but he cut through the enemy ships at the battle of trafalgar. He had an eye shot off, but he still carried on. His ships got all the cannon balls and shot them at the Spanish and French and smashed and shattered and sunk them. It was a famous battle.
Suddenly, Nelson felt a Pain in his left shoulder, because a French sniper had shot him in the back. Sadly, Nelson fell to his death, but he had saved England and was a hero.
If Nelson was never alive, we would all be speaking French and Spanish, so Nelson has gone down in history.

We are now in a pub, with a Cosy room.

The adventure continues...

Nanny & Poppa's house

25th June

Dear readers,
So far our holiday has been superb. First, we flew to London late on Thursday night
and we arrived in England on early Friday morning. When we arrived in London we zoomed off to Nanny and Poppa's house in Shropshire. Unfortunately, when we got to their house they weren't there because down in Winchester there was a celebration of 50 years since they had graduated!!!
Thankfully, my lovely aunty Polly and uncle Lee and two cousins-Maggie and Ted were there. For the first day and a half we played games and played outside, it was great fun.

Later (on the second day) my nanny and poppa and aunty Elly arrived! Today the whole family was here, just at different points because sadly uncle Lee had to go to work. We have just had finished dinner and are going to play outside.

My bag is packed but that is as far as we have got!

The boys had their first public performance together at the Informal Summer Concert and did a great job 😊
